Job Vacancy: e-Learning Systems Developer
The e-learning unit, within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine’s Learning Technology Section (LTS), is seeking to recruit an e-learning systems developer to build, maintain and support computer based teaching and learning resources to support medical, veterinary and other healthcare education both within the University and in partnership with our portfolio of external partners.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a related subject and demonstrable ability in a range of technical development skills including object oriented PHP, JavaScript, and CSS. Also desirable would be experience with PHP frameworks, ASP/VB Script, JavaScript libraries (e.g. jQuery), and ASP.NET.
Candidates must also have excellent communication and presentation skills, a proven ability to self manage and prioritize a varied and challenging workflow of development and support tasks, have a sound knowledge of current issues surrounding educational systems and data management and be able to fit into an established and award winning e-learning team. Visual flair and a keen design sensibility will also prove advantageous.
Please note that this position is initially offered on a two year fixed term contract though there is a reasonable chance of renewal beyond that date.
