2010
Graphics Lab were asked to produce exhibition material for the Royal Society Summer Exhibition 2010.
The exhibition was based on a £2,9M Wellcome Trust funded collaborative research project ‘Proof of principle: human embryonic stem cell derived red cell concentrates for clinical transfusion’.
As well as designing the display graphics, we created illustrations including ‘stemcell Stella’ who would play a key role in the activities, and also designed and built the website which incorporates an interactive quiz to support the research and the exhibit.
2011
Following on from the original commission Graphics Lab provided additional artwork for three major 2011 science exhibitions:
- The Big Bang Fair March 10-12
- Edinburgh International Science Festival April 9-22
- Glasgow Science Festival June 1-17
Graphics Lab also designed and developed the software for an interactive touch-screen kiosk. Based on the smaller original website quizzes this expanded and enhanced Adobe Flash application allowed visitors to engage with the exhibition materials in a new and entertaining manner.
